L.V. Harkness & Co.
is
proud to welcome the Jordans, of the Jordan Vineyard and Winery, for
the "Art of Decanting" Thursday evening, October 20th from 5:00- 8:00
p.m. Sandra Jordan, her husband Tom (the founder of Jordan Vineyard
and Winery) and son John (CEO of Jordan) are making their inaugural
visit to the Bluegrass for this event. The decanting of wine is a
ceremony long practiced by wine connoisseurs that not only enriches
the taste of wine, but adds pleasure and elegance to serving it to
family and friends. This lovely tradition will be demonstrated by
Lisbeth Holmefjord of the Jordan Vineyard and Winery, and is a
wonderful opportunity for participants to learn how to truly enjoy
fine wine. Ms. Holmefjord will be using pieces designed by Sandra
Jordan. Her sterling silver decanting accoutrements have been
faithfully handcrafted in a silversmithy selected by Mrs.
Jordan…silver pallets are weighed out, melted, and formed into sheet
silver in order to create each piece, and all of the decorative
elements are hand wrought. |

But these silver objets are only the beginning for Mrs. Jordan, who
has created an entire line, called the Sandra Jordan Collection, which
encompasses everything from personal accessories to furniture. Her
refined style and personal vision of casual elegance reflects her own
wine country lifestyle, and is seen in every aspect of her line. She
has created a unique collection in which every element, from a
sterling salt cellar to a grand harvest table, is relevant today and
will be treasured for generations to come. The Sandra Jordan
Collection came to the attention of Meg Jewett, the owner of L.V.
Harkness & Co., through a mutual friend. After a memorable trip to the
Jordan estate in the Sonoma Valley, Meg fell in love with the
collection, “Sandra’s line is a welcome addition to our always growing
collection of home décor. Her attention to detail is phenomenal, and
each piece is truly an heirloom for tomorrow,” Meg said. The wine
country lifestyle is what Mrs. Jordan describes as “the juxtaposition
of the gifts of the California soil with manmade beauty, where the
outdoors and indoors come together.” Meg knew right away that this
aesthetic would make perfect sense to Kentuckians, who share this love
of a lifestyle of “comfortable luxury” centered on the land around us.
Mrs. Jordan will be in the store Thursday evening to demonstrate the
Art of Decanting and also on Friday, October 21st for a special
reception from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Please call Mindy Mobley for
