I’m baaaaack!
I bet you all thought I was going to be the one column wonderdog. All
bark and no bite. Not so. I just hope all you snowbirds out there are
having your mail forwarded so you don’t miss my column. Better get
back in time for the Lexington Antiques and Garden Show. Everyone
who’s anyone will be there! I’ve been on the lookout for antique
silver food and water bowls. This might be the year!
Another great
event that you cannot miss is the Turkish Week at L.V.Harkness. You
bet you’ll see me there…looking for a magic carpet. I hardly got any
sleep over the holiday season at the Close. All those women wearing
mink. I thought I had found my soul mate. I am glad to be, pardon the
expression, embarking on the New Year. So much going on...

Have you made
some New Year resolutions that you can break before March? I have, and
here they are:
1. I am going to
pump some iron so I can beef up my biceps, and show those squirrels
who’s boss.
2. Get on John’s good side so he will give me the Tearoom’s leftover,
yummy desserts.This will give me a,“leg up” no pun intended, on those
squirrels.
3. Cut back on spending for my Designer collars and coats; only buy
one new jacket for Keeneland.
4. Learn to speak French so I can greet customers,“Bonjour Madame et
Monsieur.” Now I am told I have to learn Turkish by the end of
spring.What next, fly that magic carpet?
5. I will donate part of my income from personal appearances to the
Humane Society.Maybe they will name a wing after me.
6.Work on my love life, it needs improvement. I have a Doberman
friend,Abby, but she’s just not my type. I have to sit in a chair to
look her in the eye.
7. Be nicer to Meg so she will have Meissen make a King Charles
Spaniel figurine modeled after me.
8. Give up all reality TV viewing, except for VH1’s “Fabulous Life of
Celebrity Dogs.”Tinkerbell is soooo cute, she’s my favorite and just
my size.
9. I’ll offer free dog sitting to all our Customers who got King
Charles puppies for Christmas, as long as it doesn’t cut into my love
life (see resolution 6).
10. Be thankful I live the Life of Riley. Gotta go, I see that cute
little Daschund from down the block is going for her afternoon walk
(see resolution 6).Wish me luck!!
