What started as a nip here

and tuck there has resulted in a complete makeover for Belle Maison Antiques. The shop has been closed the past four weeks while undergoing a facelift. If you dropped by Greentree Close recently, you no doubt noticed the pods and dumpsters. The project is now complete and the updated appearance will allow Belle Maison to showcase its merchandise even better than in the past.
“After five years, it was time for a new, fresh, chic look,” said Debbie Chamblin, who operates the shop specializing in French antiques and decorative accessories. “We did a complete overhaul , including removal of the old false ceiling. Now our ceiling is 18-feet high with exposed trusses. We have new lighting and drywall and introduced a subtle pale green paint color.”
Tom Cheek was in charge of design and construction for the project.Todd Hoffman was site manger. Ivan Khalus of Devine Designs did the decorative painting and Kimbrel/Birkman
the interior design.

“They all did an outstanding job,” Chamblin said. Belle Maison Antiques’ latest shipment from France arrived just in time for the grand reopening. It has 169 items, consisting of the usual favorites from the 18th and 19th centuries— handsome buffets and chests, rustic farm tables , elegant mirrors, varieties of chairs (singles, pairs and dining), interesting chandeliers and unusual decorative objects. In addition, the shipment contains an array of vintage furniture from the era between 1940-60 and some exceptional bamboo furniture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Each piece was hand-picked by Chamblin in France and Belgium. Check out the items at www.bellemaisonantiques.com.
The shop’s reopening also will feature many new custom lamps created by the talented couple, Robin and Scott, of The Shade Above. “I am thrilled with the end result,” Chamblin said. “The upgraded aesthetics provide an excellent
backdrop for displaying my merchandise.”
