ON THE TRAIL OF
ANTIQUES
From Southeast
Michigan to Lexington, Kentucky
May/June 2006
www.ArtShowcaseMagazine.com
... Moving on, we arrive at nearby
Greentree Close, home of Greentree Antiques and Belle Maison.
In this quiet courtyard setting, W.Gay Reading and Belle Maison,
adjacent owners, share with us their keen understanding and
appreciation of English high-style and French country antiques.
Acquired during extensive buying trips abroad, their exquisite and
vastly different finds reflect the grand formality of English
manor on one hand and the colorful charm of a Paris Flea market on
the other. Each piece, with its distinctive Frensch or
English accent, speaks eloquently - and specifically - of its
native heritage. Each communicates the pronounced affinity
of its collector.

more of a regional interpretation than a revival of the national style
of the Louis XV period (1715-1774). ... |

CALLING ALL
FRANCOPHILES!
by Melissa Anthony
KEENELAND MAGAZINE, March 2003
|
|
A new coat of paint and
a bit of cleaning; that's all it took to make a former furniture
refinishing shop ready
for Belle Maison, which suited owner Debbie Chamblin just fine.
"I never wanted a fancy shop or to build a new building, so this
has worked out perfectly for all of us," said Chamblin who hung up
her sign in the fall of 2001 and is thrilled with the central
location. |
